How to Feel Comfortable During Your First Dispensary Visit

Your first dispensary visit does not need to feel intimidating. You are not expected to understand every strain name, cannabinoid, or number on the menu before you walk through the door.

A good dispensary will give you time to look around, ask questions, and decide what feels right for you.

Bring Your ID and Be Honest

Adults aged 21 and older can shop for recreational cannabis in Massachusetts with a valid government-issued photo ID.

Once inside, tell the budtender that this is your first visit. It also helps to share whether you have tried cannabis before and which formats you are comfortable considering.

You do not need to describe the exact experience you expect a product to create. Effects vary, and labels cannot promise a particular result.

Ask as Many Questions as You Need

Ask about serving sizes, potency, onset time, ingredients, and the differences between flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, and drinks.

At Haven Center, our team will help you compare the current choices without automatically steering you toward the strongest product.

You can browse the Brewster cannabis menu, view the Provincetown cannabis menu, or meet the Haven team before visiting.

Take your time. A first dispensary visit should leave you feeling informed, not rushed.

For adults 21 and older. Please consume responsibly. Cannabis can impair concentration, coordination, and judgment. Do not drive or operate machinery while impaired. Keep cannabis away from children and pets. Consumption is permitted only where allowed by Massachusetts law.
