While a Cape Cod getaway often centers on gallery hops, seafood feasts, and coastal relaxation, many people are interested in recreational cannabis on Cape Cod. Buying cannabis legally is straightforward. Here is what you need to know before visiting a cannabis dispensary on Cape Cod.

Cape Cod cannabis for tourists

Choose a Product That Fits Your Plans and Experience

A licensed Cape Cod dispensary such as The Haven Center may offer cannabis flower, pre-rolls, edibles, vapes, concentrates, tinctures, and other formats. The right option depends on your experience, tolerance, preferred method, setting, and how long you expect the effects to last.

Our menus change as products sell out and new items arrive. Take a look at our Brewster cannabis menu or Provincetown cannabis menu to see what we offer.

As of April 19, 2026, Massachusetts law allows eligible consumers to purchase up to two ounces of cannabis flower or an equivalent amount of other products, subject to applicable product-equivalency rules. That is a legal maximum. Avoid leaving cannabis in a hot vehicle, particularly during the summer.

Bring Your ID Every Time

In Massachusetts, recreational cannabis is available only to adults aged 21 and older. Dispensaries must verify your age, so bring a current government-issued photo ID even if you have visited the store before. International visitors can generally use a valid passport, while visitors from elsewhere in the United States can use an accepted driver’s license or state-issued identification card.

The Haven Center is a welcoming dispensary with friendly staff, so you do not need to know every cannabis term before walking in. Tell our team what formats you have tried, your general experience level, and whether you have questions about potency, onset, duration, or labeling. We are happy to help you compare the current choices without pushing you toward the strongest option. We are happy to be your guide.

Understand Where Cannabis Can Be Used

Massachusetts law prohibits consuming cannabis in public places and on federal land. This restriction covers every format, including smoking, vaping, drinking, and eating cannabis products. Due to the laws in place, this also means that Cape Cod beaches, parks, pavements, public event spaces, vehicles, and busy areas such as Commercial Street are not legal places to consume.

Private property may be an option when the property owner permits cannabis use. Before using cannabis at a holiday rental, hotel, inn, or campground, check its rules - a privately owned property may still prohibit smoking, vaping, or all cannabis consumption.

Do Not Take Cannabis Across State Lines or Onto Federal Property

Cannabis purchased legally in Massachusetts must remain within Massachusetts. Federal law still applies when crossing state borders, even when traveling into another state where adult-use cannabis is legal. Do not take cannabis onto an aircraft or federal property.

For adults 21 and older. Please consume responsibly. Cannabis can impair concentration, coordination, and judgment. Do not drive or operate machinery while impaired. Keep cannabis away from children and pets. Consumption is permitted only where allowed by Massachusetts law.
